Man questioned in Lynch case
UPDATE 1PM: POLICE have confirmed they have questioned a 58 year old male friend of missing Warwick woman Gail Lynch as part of their investigation into her disappearance.
Southern Police Region crime coordinator Detective Inspector Darrin Shadlow told a press conference in Toowoomba at midday the man, who is not described as Ms Lynch's partner or boyfriend, had been questioned and released.
The man is understood to be the owner of a blue Ford Falcon sedan seen in Warwick the night before Ms Lynch went missing, and the occupant of a duplex unit in the Toowoomba suburb of Rockville searched this morning by police.
Det Insp Shadlow said the case was still being treated as a missing person investigation and not as a potential homicide.
A police media statement released this morning asked members of the public to come forward if they have information about the movements of the blue Ford Falcon sedan (see below) in Warwick between 6pm Tuesday July 3 and 6am Wednesday July 4.
Gail Lynch was last seen on Tuesday July 3 at her unit on Guy Street in Warwick, opposite Rose City Shoppingworld.
Forensic investigators were last night scouring the unit for clues as to the circumstances of Ms Lynch's disappearance and are still there this morning.
Police and SES crews are still searching the Warwick area, including the Condamine River.
Relatives of Ms Lynch are clinging to hope that the 55 year old grandmother, formerly of Brisbane, will be found alive and well.
