OLD Logan Road in Gailes will be the site of a 68-dwelling townhouse complex following planning approval being granted by Ipswich City Council.

Planning and Development Committee chairperson Councillor Paul Tully said the proposed development would include a mix of single detached and attached units and extensive communal recreation space.

"The complex will be established in a handy location across the road from the Gailes Shops and will broaden the range of accommodation options for people in this area," Cr Tully said.

He said the proposed development site was bounded by Old Logan Rd to the west and existing residential dwellings to the north, south and east.

He said it would be accessible via a planned new roundabout intersection with Old Logan Rd and Julieanne St.

"As part of the proposed works, an existing character building will also be relocated from the north to the south of the site," Cr Tully said.
