POLICE were called to quell traffic congestion after two cars collided at a Goodna intersection.

A police spokesman said the cars collided at the intersection of Smith Rd and William St about 7.10am Tuesday.

The spokesman said the collision at the notoriously busy was monitored on Safe City security cameras.

He said the intersection would have been more busy on school days but police were still needed for traffic control.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said a patient was taken to Ipswich Hospital with minor injuries.

Police were able to leave the scene about 40 minutes after the crash.
