Police officers hit in the head as party gets out of control

A GOODNA man took on three police officers who attempted to disperse a crowd at an out-of-control party in One Mile on Saturday night.

The party was declared an out-of-control event on Old Toowoomba Rd under newly introduced legislation at 10pm.

Forty minutes later three officers returned to the home and were confronted by a 20-year-old male. The man made threats to police before he was involved in a physical altercation with the officers.

Two male officers were hit in the head before a third female officer deployed OC spray on the male.

The officers were taken to the Ipswich Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The 20-year-old man has been charged with two counts serious assault police and obstructing police.

He was due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrate Court yesterday.
