Consortium scraps Chinchilla solar facility

THE Solar Dawn Consortium today confirmed it would not pursue the development of its proposed solar thermal power facility near Chinchilla.

The announcement follows extensive discussions with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) on options to move the project forward in response to dynamic market conditions.

"With ARENA soon to embark on a range of new initiatives, we look forward to sharing our experience and working with ARENA to help build Australia's clean energy future," consortium spokesman Anthony Wiseman said.

"On behalf of the consortium, I would like to thank the Western Downs Regional Council, local businesses and the community for their support and assistance during the project's development phase."

Any local businesses or residents requiring additional information are encouraged to email enquiries@solardawn.com.au.
