Coach Reid dumped after 14 seasons with Philadelphia Eagles

ANDY Reid's 14-season reign at the Philadelphia Eagles is over.

Reid, the longest serving head coach in the NFL, was fired on Monday, the day after the regular season ended, and he was not alone with six other coaches getting their marching orders.

Chicago Bears boss Lovie Smith was also shown the door after nine seasons in charge and an overall win-loss record of 84-66.

Norv Turner (San Diego), Pat Shurmur (Cleveland), Ken Whisenhunt (Arizona), Romeo Crennel (Kansas City) and Chan Gailey (Buffalo) are also all now looking for work.

During his time at the Eagles, Reid won 130 games, the most in team history, made it to the play-offs 9 times and was named NFL coach of the year on 3 occasions.

He won 10 play-off games, reached five NFC championship games and one Super Bowl, which ended in defeat against New England in 2005.

However, this season was his worst in charge and he was shown the door a day after the Eagles were hammered 42-7 by the New York Giants and ended their season at 4-12.
