STAFF at Riverlink's CardioTech kiosk are encouraging Ipswich shoppers to jump on a treadmill to help fight breast cancer.

During October, which is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month, shoppers can walk on the store's treadmills for free.

Cardiotech will donate $1 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for every kilometre walked.

Dressed in pink from top to bottom, Ipswich CardioTech team member Henry Anderson said walking on a treadmill was a fun and healthy way to raise awareness for an important cause.

"I've lost friends and family to breast cancer and it's a disease that affects so many people," he said.

"Those who can't walk on the treadmill can spend one minute on our vibration machine.

"It's not just about breast cancer but also about promoting a healthy lifestyle."

Mr Anderson said Ipswich locals were already showing their support.

"We're all trainers here as well," he said.

"We want people to pop down, have a yarn and get some advice and motivation."

The Walk a Kilometre in their Shoes fundraiser will be held all month during Riverlink's opening hours.
