Bundy boy voted off X Factor
THE X Factor journey has come to an end for Bundaberg singer Justin Standley after he was voted off last night's live show.
The third Top 12 act to leave, Mr Standley said he was at peace with the decision and felt it was his time to leave.
"I'm actually really happy with how far I got in the show," he told the NewsMail.
"I never expected to make it past the first audition.
"It's been an amazing experience and, having found my children, it feels like I've already won."
The Sydney music student shocked the judges during his first audition when he revealed his main motivation for auditioning was to find the children from whom he had been estranged for 12 years.
"I could never have imagined how fantastic this experience would be," Mr Standley said.
"There's a chance I'll be moving to Perth now to be closer to my daughters, and I could end up finishing my degree at the same university as my daughter."
With 40 radio interviews today and appearances on Sunrise and The Morning show, the opportunities are endless, but Mr Standley is also looking forward to being able to visit family and friends in Bundaberg as soon as possible.
"I'm so homesick," he said.
"Hopefully I can come back and put on a live show.
"I've been overwhelmed by the support, especially from Bundaberg."
