Bound for Disneyland
HANNAH Schimke will dance her way around Disneyland on Monday.
The year 12 West Moreton Anglican College is among a 23-strong troupe that will fly to California and perform at the world-famous venue.
South-east Queensland's Dance Force troupe will perform in the Disneyland Grand Parade.
Dance Force is made up of girls aged from six to 23 years, with members hailing from the Lockyer Valley, Toowoomba and Stanthorpe.
The small Gatton-based class will hit the big city this weekend, ahead of their rigorous Californian touring schedule.
During the dance tour, Hannah will also perform in various stage shows with other international dance studios at the California Adventure Theme Park, Universal Studios and Hollywood Boulevard.
The Dance Force troupe will also participate in Disneyland performing arts workshops and jazz funk and hip-hop workshops at Hollywood's famous The Edge studio.
Dance Force principal Sarah Hoyling said the students had been working very hard learning and rehearsing the Disneyland parade choreography and routines for their stage shows.
"This will be very rewarding for the students who will gain valuable experience from this trip and a unique insight to work opportunities in the performing arts," Ms Hoyling said.
"I am looking forward to accompanying these hardworking students on this exciting journey."
Hannah is a also a member of WMAC's Dance Company, which has won several awards at various south-east Queensland dance eisteddfods throughout the year.
She will complete her final year of secondary school this year, and hopes to keep dancing post-school.
