THE Outlaw Nomads Motorbike Club members have got on their bikes after they were ordered to leave their Goodna base.

The Nomads had established new club headquarters two months ago at Mill St, Goodna, after moving their base from Logan City.

But Ipswich City Council served a show cause notice on the owner of the premises because the land was not zoned for clubs or entertainment facilities.

Goodna councillor Paul Tully said he had received numerous complaints from residents about the activities of members of the club.

"They were doing burnouts and circles of the block. I had some serious complaints from people being intimidated and harassed," Cr Tully said.

"The headquarters was across the road from residential premises.

"Early on people didn't realise that a bikie club had been established ... but now they are gone and forgotten. They are not wanted in Ipswich.

"As I understand it, they were on a month to month lease.

"The council put the action against the landowner and not the members of the bikie club ... which we are entitled to do.

"If a landowner is aware of unlawful use we can serve a show cause notice on them. That was one of the most effective things that has ever happened in Australia ... for a bikie club to come and go so quickly.

"In the end, the Nomads were forced to move on not for breaking the law but because they were not complying with the Ipswich town plan.

"They were last seen heading towards Schoolies and related celebrations on the Gold Coast."
