Betty unearths a two-carrot gold chain
LOWOOD farmer Betty Keller has seen carrots of all shapes and sizes on her property.
But even Ms Keller was surprised by what she discovered recently, with two bizarre carrots growing inside the links of a chain.
"This chain must have washed down in the floods and been deposited just under the ground," she said. "When my husband planted the seeds they must have fallen down in between the links and grew that way.
"We've had some odd shapes, but nothing like this."
The carrots on the farm have just been harvested, but the two rogue orange vegetables won't be among those going to the grocer.
