CREATING sensational flavours is a tough job, but when Barnie Nolan added Worcestershire sauce and cracked pepper to a sausage, he knew he was onto a winner.
The recipe was certainly a golden combination - it's earned the Circle T Meats butcher the Sausage King crown for best continential sausage.
Mr Nolan was over the moon to have claimed a hat-trick in the national competition, which awards six Sausage King crowns each year across categories including pork, poultry, lamb and gourmet.
"When we think about how many butchers there are in our region, state and nation, it makes me so proud to be named the National Sausage King. That's a lot of butchers we've beaten," he said. He was the only Queensland Sausage King, with other categories taken out by butchers from interstate.
