Band lads looking to battle
GUITAR licks, drum solos and vocal ability - Ipswich musicians will put everything on the line at a Global Battle of the Bands show this Friday.
The Ipswich heat will bring bands including The End Orphans to the Studio 188 stage, and the winner will progress to the regional round.
The End Orphans' Jake Blatchly said the band was looking forward to putting on a high-energy show.
"There'll probably be a lot of different genres, so it should be interesting," Jake said.
"We play rock 'n' roll and we're heavily influenced by bands like KISS, AC/DC and Alice Cooper.
"We're very glam rock-esque with a musical style that stays true to real rock 'n' roll."
Bands will have the opportunity to play in front of music industry judges, as well as a local audience.
Prizes including cash, cameras, shoes and industry subscriptions will be on offer.
The all-ages event will run from 8pm to 11.30pm at 188 Brisbane St.
Tickets cost $15 and are available at the door.
Bands interested in registering can email redletter@bigpond.com or phone 02 9519 3978.
