Warrant recalled for graffiti accused

UPDATE: A Raceview teen accused of more than 90 graffiti offences has had a warrant issued for his arrest recalled.

Tyson James Morris Douglas, 20, was arrested on November 15, 2015 and charged with a litany of graffiti, drug and trespass-related offences.

Mr Douglas was due to be sentenced on 96 charges this week in Ipswich Magistrates Court.

A warrant was issued for his arrest after it was wrongly concluded he had not shown up to court.

It is understood Mr Douglas was in another court room after he was directed their by the court's electronic notice board.

Mr Douglas will face court over his litany of alleged offences at a future date.

 

Arrest warrant for man accused of 90 graffiti offences

A Raceview teen accused of more than 90 graffiti offences has had a warrant issued for his arrest after he failed to turn up to court for sentencing.

Tyson James Morris Douglas, 20, was arrested on November 15, 2015 and charged with a litany of graffiti, drug and trespass-related offences.

The alleged offences occurred between October 26, 2014 and July 24, 2015 at numerous locations across the Ipswich region.

There are at least 10 complainants in the matter including Ipswich City Council, Brisbane City Council and Queensland Rail.

Mr Douglas was due to be sentenced on 96 charges on Monday in Ipswich Magistrates Court but he failed to show up.

He legal representative said he had not heard from Mr Douglas despite his name being called three times over the court's public address system.

Magistrate Donna MacCallum did not hesitate in issuing a warrant for Mr Douglas's arrest.
