Power restored to 8760 properties after storms

UPDATE 6PM: Only 240 homes and businesses on the Sunshine Coast remain without power following thunderstorms earlier today.

At one point nearly 9000 properties were without power.

Energex are now working in the Beerwah, Peachester, Maleny and Mooloolaba areas.

 

BREAKING 5.30PM: Nearly 9000 homes and businesses are without power after thunderstorms tore across the Sunshine Coast today.

Nambour, Bli Bli, Mooloolaba, Peachester, Mapleton, Yandina and surrounding areas were the largest areas hit.

Energex are currently investigating the situation.

An update will be provided by 7pm at the latest they say.
