Accused killer Gerard Baden-Clay asked minister for money

ACCUSED wife killer Gerard Baden-Clay asked for a $400,000 loan from former Housing Minister Bruce Flegg in the months leading up to the death of his wife, Allison Baden-Clay, court documents reveal.

Among the dozens of affidavits gathered as part of the police investigation into the murder of Mrs Baden-Clay and released in the wake of Mr Baden-Clay's second failed bail application Friday, was one from Mr Flegg, who gave a statement to police on May 6.

Mrs Baden-Clay was reported missing by her husband on April 20.

Her body was found on April 30 by a canoeist near Kholo Creek, 14 kilometres from the Brookfield home she shared with her husband.

Mr Baden-Clay was arrested on June 13 and charged with his wife's murder.
