Placing misleading employment ads is an offence against the Trades Practices Act and State/Territory Fair Trading Acts and all advertisements are subject to the Publisher's approval. This Newspaper's policy is to ensure that advertisements comply with the law and are under no obligation to publish an advertisement if there is doubt about its compliance with the law. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has prosecuted individuals or organisations for breaches of the Trades Practices Act.
